FOMO for Hormone Therapy

A month ago when I was training one of my clients who is 54, she asked me about Hormone Therapy.

She said, “My gynecologist told me I would know if I needed it. My hot flashes aren’t bad and nothing is severe, but I am feeling FOMO about hormone therapy. Everywhere I look on instagram, doctor influencers talk about how they're taking it and how great it is. They talk about how helpful it is for their bone health, memory and heart. Should I be on it?”

This question inspired me to reach out to an expert guest I've had on my podcast in the past, double board certified & menopause society certified menopause practitioner and OB/GYN, Dr Dineasha Potter-McQuilkin.

I highly recommend a listen to this 20 minute podcast where we cover the facts of Hormone Therapy for perimenopausal and post menopausal women.

To summarize the podcast: there are so many benefits to a women’s health on HT, however it is not for everyone since each person has a unique medical history, a different genealogical history (ex. does breast cancer run in the family?). Dr Dineasha sums up the pros and cons of Hormone Therapy while emphasizing that a conversation with a menopause certified practitioner is vital.
